Steve,

Would it be possible to model something like this in the manner of how
PROAI solves this problem with the specific URL for the Identify verb in
its OAI response?  This URL could be configured on a repository basis.
I think this could be very useful when paired with monitoring tools like
Nagios, where the resulting datastream could be parsed for certain
strings to test for connectivity or uptime.
