Hi Nicholas, A CMIS interface to Fedora isn't currently planned as a core feature, and I'm not aware of an effort to put together a direct CMIS plugin for Fedora.
However, you may want to look at the Apache Chemistry project (currently in incubation) and see if that is capable of sitting on top of a JCR repository, as this was an early design goal of the project: http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/SandboxCMIS ...and there has been significant work going on at Northwestern in getting a JCR interface on top of Fedora: http://jcr-connect.at.northwestern.edu/en/StartingPoints So it might be possible to provide Chemistry's CMIS interface on top of Northwestern's JCR-Connect interface on top of Fedora. But that's just speculation based on what I've read, and would need further investigation to validate. - Chris On Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 5:15 AM, Nicholas W <4...@log1.net> wrote: > Dear All, > I have been asked if support for OASIS Content Management > Interoperability Services (CMIS) is planned in the Fedora Commons > roadmap (or as a pluggin). > > http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=cmis > > Any thoughts on this most welcome. > > Thanks a lot, > Regards, > Nicholas W. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest > Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada > $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing > Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store > http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev > _______________________________________________ > Fedora-commons-users mailing list > Fedora-commons-users@lists.sourceforge.net > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fedora-commons-users > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Fedora-commons-users mailing list Fedora-commons-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fedora-commons-users
