Coincidentally, we ran into a variant of this problem this week: when downloading very large datastreams (TIFFs), about three requests out of five would result in a truncated file, and "java.io.IOException: Bad file number" exceptions in the log. We were running Fedora 3.4 on a Solaris 10 platform, Tomcat 6.0.18.
Fortunately, the solution was simple: upgrade to 3.4.2, with the patch Asger had written to address this problem (https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/FCREPO-774). After the upgrade, the problem disappeared entirely. Thanks to everyone for debugging, fixing the problem, testing the patch, and releasing the upgraded version so quickly. I suspect that the problem was a lot more common than we might have suspected, given the variety of situations in which it manifested itself. -- Scott -- Scott Prater Library, Instructional, and Research Applications (LIRA) Division of Information Technology (DoIT) University of Wisconsin - Madison pra...@wisc.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Special Offer-- Download ArcSight Logger for FREE (a $49 USD value)!
