Actually that means that FCREPO-857 stays open - there is a way to query the resource index forcing a "flush" of triples that have not yet been committed; so the PROAI code can be modified to do this so that it is not necessary to use that setting. Although setting syncUpdates resolves the issue it can slow things down in general, as each update operation has to wait until the triples are committed to the resource index before completing. Thanks for testing this setting - it seems to confirm the source of the issue.
