Thanks for your response. I guess then I will need to take care of that myself. 
I guess the quickest way to proceed is using the relationship methods from the 
rest api combined maybe with searching Mulgara's ri graph to find the related 
objects. Any recommendations?

Only the triples that have the deleted object as the subject are
deleted.  Triples are not required to have an existing object by
design, as there are use-cases that require supporting partial (or
external!) objects.
