*New DuraSpace Web Site–A Focus DuraSpace Open Technologies*

*Ithaca, NY* DuraSpace is pleased to announce the release of a new
organizational web site designed using some of our own open technologies to
create flexible and durable digital content. The new site has been built in
collaboration with Discovery Garden <http://discoverygarden.ca/>, a
DuraSpace Registered Service Provider<http://duraspace.org/service_providers>,
using Islandora, a robust open source digital asset management system based
on the combination of a Fedora digital repository and Drupal.
Islandora<http://islandora.ca/about>was developed by the University of
Prince Edward Island's Robertson Library
and makes it easy to build and manage repository content for use by web
sites.

DuraSpace requires an efficient and dynamic online information transfer
point to provide users with quick routes to in-depth information about
DSpace (http://DSpace.org <http://dspace.org/>), Fedora (
http://fedora-commons.org) and DuraCloud
(http://DuraCloud.org<http://duracloud.org/>),
along with ways to participate in DuraSpace open source development.
The DuraSpace
web site <http://duraspace.org/> is backed by a lightweight and easy-to-use
content management system with Fedora under the hood. DuraSpace materials
related to iterative open source development can now be made persistent in a
Fedora repository through a simple web interface. The
Duracloud.org<http://duracloud.org/>web site announced last week was
also built with Islandora.

Key features include a rotating display of selected collections from
community repositories, fast access to DSpace <http://dspace.org/>,
Fedora<http://fedora-commons.org/>and
DuraCloud <http://duracloud.org/> open source project information, the
latest organizational and community news and information, an events
calendar, as well as blog and twitter feeds and community wiki spaces.
