Hello:

At UNC-CH we're getting ready to put a new version of our repository
into production. We are going to try using FeSL/DB XML. I was hoping
to get some guidance on how to keep DB XML up and running. We are
using DB XML version 2.5.16 by replacing the two DB XML jars in Fedora
with the 2.5.16 versions before Fedora's first startup. So far its
behavior has been consistent with a development system running DB XML
2.5.13.

An earlier email on this list mentioned increasing the default logging
region size to 1 MB by setting the following parameter in DB_CONFIG:
set_lg_regionmax 1048576 to decrease the frequency of the out of
memory error. When we hit that error, we do the following:

cd /opt/dbxml/bin
./db_recover -h /opt/repository/fedora/pdp/database/

I would appreciate any advice on running DB XML or corrections to the above.

Thanks,

Steve
