I'm already assuming from the API and from tests I've done that the answer here is no, but I need to ask anyway, since I like surprises.
We ingested and ingested, but now find that we want our data stream to have a file size property. (This property was not implemented in an earlier version and therefore blank.) If we modify the datastream in any normal API way, we end up with a new version. In that situation Fedora also makes a new copy of the data. We'd like to be able to change a property of a datastream without creating a new copy of the actual data file. One approach would be to modify the FOXML and then rebuild DB and triple store. That would certainly work and we'll consider it. Is there any way to make such changes through the API? I tried turning off versionable before the edit, but that still results in a new copy of the data. many thanks, Greg -- ___ Gregory N.
