Hi Fedora Users,
I'm trying to install fedora commons 3.4.2 using the installer and the
custom install option to use a remote mysql database but am not sure of
the jdbc url I need to use with the included jdbc driver.
Given the installer asks for the database username & password
independently of the JDBC URL what remains to be included in the jdbc
url?
Would a url of jdbc:mysql://remotehostFQDN:portnumber/ be enough to
successfully connect?
Do I need to include the
Unicode=true&characterencoding=UTF-8&autoReconnect=true as shown
in the example provided by the installer if I have the database created
on the remote server with DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8 & DEFAULT COLLATE
utf8_bin?
M
