Subject: Re: [fcrepo-user] Exporting and Importing Objects

Hi Vincent,

Fedora's API currently doesn't have an atomic "replace" method, so I'm
afraid purging and importing is the only way to go.

You may be interested in a utility I've been working on that copies
objects from one place to another, called Fedora CloudSync. It is so
named because besides allowing selective copies from Fedora to Fedora,
it also lets you copy objects from a Fedora instance to DuraCloud, and
back. It takes care of the purge-then-re-ingest that is currently
necessary to propogate whole-object changes. Currently it's in beta
and only works with FOXML (not managed content), but I expect to do a
fully-function 1.0.0 release next month.
