Kyle -- It has been years since I've done this, so I don't know if it is still possible. At one point you could write the FOXML files into the file system (with the Fedora server shut down) and then use the index rebuild utility to slurp up the relevant data into the database. If you can afford for your Fedora system to be down, that might be an option.
