New Webinar@AIMS: " How to select appropriate encoding strategies for producing 
Linked Open Data (LOD)-enabled bibliographic data", 31st July

The FAO of the United Nations, the Agricultural Information Management 
Standards (AIMS) Community [1], the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on 
Agriculture (IICA) [2] and the International Association of Agricultural 
Information Specialists (IAALD) [3] are pleased to announce a new webinar 
entitled " How to select appropriate encoding strategies for producing Linked 
Open Data (LOD)-enabled bibliographic data" [4]. The session will take place on 
31st July 2013 – 16:00 Rome Time [5] and will be presented by Marcia Zeng, Kent 
State University (USA) and Imma Subirats, Food and Agriculture Organization of 
the United Nations (Italy).

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

The webinar will be based on LODE-BD Recommendations - Linked Open Data 
(LOD)-enabled bibliographical data- which aims at providing bibliographic data 
providers of open repositories with a set of recommendations that will support 
the selection of appropriate encoding strategies for producing meaningful 
Linked Open Data (LOD)-enabled bibliographical data (LODE-BD)..

The LODE-BD recommendations are applicable for structured data describing 
bibliographic resources such as articles, monographs, theses, conference 
papers, presentation materials, research reports, learning objects, etc. – in 
print or electronic format..
