Recommendations for Agricultural Information Management: Introducing the AIMS
Platform and its Potentials for Information Managers" [2]. The session will
take place on 15th of October 2013 – 16:00 Rome Time [3] and will be presented
by Karna Wegner, information managment specialist of the Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations (Italy) and member of the AIMS editorial
team.

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

AIMS is a space for accessing and discussing agricultural information
management standards, tools and methodologies, connecting information workers
worldwide to build a global community of practice.

The webinar will inform about
- good practices for the facilitation of open access,
- good practices for assuring quality in metadata creation,
- standardized agricultural vocabularies (organized knowledge structures),
- tools that use recommended standards
- initiatives related to the semantic web (linked open data, LOD) on the AIMS
platform, and
- support services on AIMS.

Furthermore the AIMS community will be introduced as a network of practitioners
that cooperates on all issues of agricultural information management, exchanges
practical experiences and that can be consulted for any related problem.
