Information, University of Michigan==*

A multidisciplinary team at the University of Michigan is engaged
in initial work to prototype a learning health system (LHS) (
http://www.nap.edu/catalog.php?record_id=13301), in which which in the
words of the national academies "science, informatics, incentives, and
culture are aligned by continuous improvement and innovation, with best
practices seamlessly embedded in the delivery process and new
knowledge captured as an integral byproduct of the delivery experience".

The team has selected Fedora as the core knowledge base of the prototype
LHS. In order to undertake work on the first stages of the prototype, we
are in need of a Fedora-aware programmer and designer to help design the
object model, develop the initial API for translating that object API to
the Fedora API, and interface with developers working on the mobile device
application that leverages the knowledge base.

The initial period of work would be starting immediately through the middle
of February, with a possible extension into the summer of 2014. Hourly rate
is negotiable and all work could be undertaken remotely, there is no need
to be resident in or visit Ann Arbor. Depending on future funding, this
temporary employment possibility could evolve into a more permanent
position on this groundbreaking project.
