Description :
Fail2ban scans log files like /var/log/pwdfail or
/var/log/apache/error_log and bans IP that makes too many password
failures. It updates firewall rules to reject the IP address.

Update Information:

Update to 0.8.1. fail2ban now includes new filters and actions. The "mail" 
actions are now deprecated and should be replaced with "sendmail" actions. 
fail2ban-regex now accepts "ignoreregex".
