-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-5715 2009-06-02 13:28:19 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : lam Product : Fedora 9 Version : 7.1.4 Release : 7.fc9 URL : http://www.lam-mpi.org/ Summary : The Local Area Multicomputer programming environment Description : LAM (Local Area Multicomputer) is a Message-Passing Interface (MPI) programming environment and development system for heterogeneous computers on a network. LAM implements all of MPI version 1 with the exception of cancelling of sends, and most of MPI version 2. However, LAM has been deprecated (for quite some time now) and most (if not all) of the original LAM developers are now part of the Open MPI project. Use of LAM in new programming is strongly discouraged as this package will go away soon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Fix a few minor issues with the lam package. See bugs for details. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Wed May 20 2009 Doug Ledford <dledf...@redhat.com> - 2:7.1.4-7 - Lam build is not smp safe * Wed May 20 2009 Doug Ledford <dledf...@redhat.com> - 2:7.1.4-6 - Pass -fno-strict-aliasing to gcc to prevent build error on ppc64 - Don't put .module on the end of our module file now that it's in the default module path * Wed May 20 2009 Doug Ledford <dledf...@redhat.com> - 2:7.1.4-5 - Fix an rpmlint issue (tabs versus spaces) - Correct a missing Requires(post) chkconfig (for /usr/sbin/alternatives) * Wed May 20 2009 Doug Ledford <dledf...@redhat.com> - 2:7.1.4-4 - Update description text (bz478945) - Fix directory ownerships (bz473593) - Fix up build flags (bz499978) - Move module file to default module path (bz458390) * Sat Mar 21 2009 Robert Scheck <rob...@fedoraproject.org> - 2:7.1.4-3 - Rebuilt against libtool 2.2 * Wed Feb 25 2009 Fedora Release Engineering <rel-...@lists.fedoraproject.org> - 2:7.1.4-2 - Rebuilt for https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_11_Mass_Rebuild * Tue Jun 24 2008 Doug Ledford <dledf...@redhat.com> - 2:7.1.4-1 - Update to latest upstream version - Make sure to remove APSL licensed files from upstream tarball and rename tarball to version-rh1 to indicate such - Make lam exist in its own prefix, which forestalls all conflicts with other mpi implementations and also eliminates the need for an alternatives setup - Make environment-modules required for lam-libs and the default means of selecting between lam/openmpi/other mpi implementations - Only apply the archmode patch on arches where gcc will accept a mode flag - Make sure we remove any stale lam alternatives configs when we install so that upgrades will work properly * Mon Feb 18 2008 Fedora Release Engineering <rel-...@fedoraproject.org> - 2:7.1.2-12 - Autorebuild for GCC 4.3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #478945 - LAM description text is insanely long https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478945 [ 2 ] Bug #458390 - RFC: Install the lam module file in the system's default $MODULEPATH https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=458390 [ 3 ] Bug #499978 - lam not built with $RPM_OPT_FLAGS https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=499978 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.
