-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-1638 2009-02-13 03:21:03 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : bro Product : Fedora 10 Version : 1.4 Release : 1.fc10 URL : http://bro-ids.org Summary : Open-source, Unix-based Network Intrusion Detection System Description : Bro is an open-source, Unix-based Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) that passively monitors network traffic and looks for suspicious activity. Bro detects intrusions by first parsing network traffic to extract is application-level semantics and then executing event-oriented analyzers that compare the activity with patterns deemed troublesome. Its analysis includes detection of specific attacks (including those defined by signatures, but also those defined in terms of events) and unusual activities (e.g., certain hosts connecting to certain services, or patterns of failed connection attempts). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: - rebase to 1.4-release - added report scripts Please test the scripts and report problems to bug #461163. I won't push this update to stable because there is a perl library included which should be probably installed as a separate package. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Mon Feb 9 2009 Daniel Kopecek <[email protected]> - 1.4-1 - rebase to 1.4-release * Mon Nov 10 2008 Daniel Kopecek <[email protected]> - 1.4-0.3.20080804svn - Removed bind-devel from BuildRequires -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #461163 - initial bro packaging omits setup matters, scripts needed https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=461163 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.
