-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2009-7227 2009-07-02 04:59:18 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : mdadm Product : Fedora 11 Version : 3.0 Release : 1.fc11 URL : http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/raid/mdadm/ Summary : The mdadm program controls Linux md devices (software RAID arrays) Description : The mdadm program is used to create, manage, and monitor Linux MD (software RAID) devices. As such, it provides similar functionality to the raidtools package. However, mdadm is a single program, and it can perform almost all functions without a configuration file, though a configuration file can be used to help with some common tasks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: This update includes a fix for the mentioned but, but also updates mdadm to the final 3.0 version from upstream. There are differences in how mdadm-3.0-1 and mdadm-3.0-0.devel3 handled determination of device names. Users are strongly encouraged to make sure that if they want an array to have a specific name, that the array be listed in /etc/mdadm.conf with an appropriate ARRAY entry. Users may also wish to recreate their initrd images and reboot after the update to ensure that this mdadm update will work fine in their given configuration when future kernel updates result in a new initrd image being generated. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Mon Jun 29 2009 Doug Ledford <[email protected]> - 3.0-1 - Update to official mdadm-3.0 - Remove dead patches - Fix raid-check script to only start a check action if the device supports it - Resolves: bz505587 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #505587 - mdadm schedules sync checks on RAID-0 arrays https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=505587 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.
