After digging around, I managed to find a "User Guide" to the fedora desktop to use as a reference point. As a result, I have taken out Google Picasa and Adobe Acrobat from the default applications list. Nautilus doesn't make sense to be in applications, because all of "places" is basically nautilus, as I understand it (happy to be corrected), so I didn't add it back in. So, here is my proposed default apps list - any missing apps just don't get displayed, no weird behaviour whatsoever. Note that you can right click on any app to make it in/out of the favorite applications. 1. Firefox 2. Thunderbird 3. Spreadsheet (openoffice.org -calc) 4. Writer (openoffice.org -writer) 5. Banshee 6. Terminal (gnome-terminal) I'm thinking maybe the following makes sense as well: 7. Presentation (openoffice.org -impress) 8.
