This program has had a change of name in version 5.0. I have a feeling if it had simply kept it's old name, we'd just drop gimp-print 4.2.x and upgrade gimp-print to version 5.0. That's all this essentially is. Yes, you can install them side-by-side, simply because it's a major upgrade (think: installing OOo1 & OOo2 at the same time). It seems to me that this isn't really an /extras/ package conflicting with a /core/ package, it's a /core/ package which has seen major improvements and now has a new name. I hope we don't get stuck with the old printing capabilities of gimp due to this... We didn't keep phoenix in parallel just because it was renamed firefox (by way of hypothetical example)...
