Yeah, it's used to handle both copy/paste and DnD. See

Christoph, since we do want to upstream our kernel modules, could you give us an
idea of what needs to change? Obviously we have to adapt the modules to the
kernel coding style and cut out the older kernel compatibility code, but what
else needs to be reimplemented or redesigned?
