I guess replacing the xinetd conf with an init script would be in order. http://www.h5l.org/manual/HEAD/info/heimdal.html#Remote-administration The binaries are going to be after the MIT Kerberos binaries in the PATH. I'm not sure if that matters much one way or the other.
