Static libs get built and installed even with --disable-static-libs . However they do not get used, so I have to rm them. >$ grep /usr/lib/jni etc/librarypath.xml * glugen-rt is in /usr/share/java. Other components are in /usr/lib. Unlike debian. where gluegen-rt is in /usr/lib/jni/. Modifying this file to include has no effect. We should probably move further discussions elsewhere, to not clutter up this bug too much. I'll have another crack at getting it working soon.
