ARC are also known as "galleys" or "uncorrected proofs."  They are bound copies 
of exactly the same copy I get to edit one last time before going to press.  
There should be that information there somewhere in a disclaimer that says 
something along the lines of "This is an uncorrected copy.  Any quotes in 
should refer to the final text before publication."  Something like that, 
anyway.  

As for the number, you got me.  I think we did something like 1,500 of Faerie 
Tale, and only about a dozen for Magician, so I have no idea how many copies of 
PotB there were.  I could guess but that would be all it is.
