I still have to find a decent bookstore in Australia, who can pack a book so it isn't destroyed in the post by the time it gets to the UK.
And for the privilege I will probably have to pay the same value of the book in postage. So there will only be one UK purchase from me.
My last experience was, A Voyager 15th anniversary Magician, and an Australian Deluxe Magician. From Angus and "I have no idea on packing books" Robertson, They so kindly put a single layer of that small bubble wrap over each book, even though I asked them to provide adequate packaging to protect them then threw them in a paper envelope 4 times the size. Needless to say they both arrived damaged. Total loss 160AU$ or 170USD or 110GBP
The did say their local postal service had said the packaging would be adequate, not likely for the weight. They filed a claim, but when I got the paperwork at this end, how could I in all honesty say the packaging was adequate, anyone looking at it would immediately see it wasn't.
So if anyone can suggest an Australian online store who they know package well, let me know by email
