This is why I announce my vacations AFTER I've had them. A few of my co-workers and friends knew I was gone, but I didn't specify where, how long, or even that I was out of the state.

The problem we stumbled on was, by displaying 'collections' on the Internet, or even advertising them elsewhere, you can affect any insurance on them if they are valuable, as by showing them the insurance companies consider you are increasing the risk.

If there were a theft, it could be considered you have contributed to it, so less, or more likely no layout, or if you tell the insurance company, increased premiums.

And remember with the increased social info on the web these days, we know when your house is un-occupied as you tell the world you are away!

If someone can give me a good reason, I will consider it..
