HI Ray ,
I heard today an interesting law in Australia. Wish it was the same for TV
And movies
Once A book is released anywhere in the world And not in Australia
One day after Any one in Australia can grab it and publish it in Australia
For Free
Is that true
Regards
Andrew

My first reply to these ..... Guys shit happens!!!! Noone is perfect. The
only thing that matters is that the book is readable .... And noone has said
that it is not .... Errors are bound to appear. And they will most probably
be corrected ... There is no point in having moaning constantly about it
.... It has been mentioned and ray has said it will be adressed .... And
personally I believe they will be corrected ... Give the man some peace so
that his editors can sort out the issues and so that he can start a new
book!!!!!

James

Hey Peeps - drop the subject. In 29 books this was the most
significant error. There are ALWAYS typos, missing words, incorrect
attributions, character names, etc in just about any novel nowadays.
It happens. The last significant error that Ray's book was Shards
where the map was left out and that was corrected in following
additions.

Those of us who get the book on the first day it's out, no matter
where it is out often give Ray a laundry list of errors we find and
they are almost always corrected by the paperback edition if not the
immediate reprint of the hardcover. Inevitably one fan or another
offers to proofread and SWEARS they could do it better. Try doing it
after you've edited 30 novels in 30 days and then see how well you do.
I once did 120 titles for LeapFrog in that period of time, checking
every single touch point and the printed word - then two others would
double check it when I was done. Even then I am sure errors went out -
though one battle I lost was a science book where the producer claimed
that Mars is made primarily of iron and concrete. Next she would
insist A is for Banana because it has two A's in it.

To Ray's and the publishers credit they always do their best to not
only catch errors before they go out but are very gracious about
accepting corrections from readers and doing their best to correct
them in subsequent editions.

So let's let it go
