AFAIK, there are only two versions of the text. 1982 is the only original edition. You could find first/second/book club editions of the 1982 version. 1992 is the publication date of the Author's Preferred/New Revised/etc. All versions since 1992 are different cover/different formatting of the APE.

    Hello everyone,

I've seen quite some conversations going on about books and
versions... Now I'm trying to get my hands on the first book in the
series Magician. I want the full book, not the split up one...
Which edition should I get? I know the one I read (which was like 7
years ago) was 900 something pages... Now I've found a 2012 edition
with 864 pages... and a '2nd revised' edition with only 681...
Can anyone explain to me what these differences mean? Like, is it
actual different content or is just the graphic design with lettering
    and spacing and stuff different?

    Greetings,
    Boudewijn

The revised edition has additional pages (mostly extended scenes). The
difference in number of pages is most likely due to the layout and
type-setting (font, font-size, line-spacing, etc).
