The thing is I did it using average inflation rates, not those specific to publishing, such as salary's, distribution and printing, then the figures would have been much worse :)

Think how much a gallon of fuel was in 1982 and compare to now. In the UK it was 0.72 today it is 6.12, so if we extrapolated using the fuel rate a book at @10 in 1982 would be @44 :)
