There's a cost to attend the convention.  Ticket prices on on the Supranova.com 
web site.  Other than that, it's only the film/tv types who charge per 
autograph.  Us writers tend to work for free.  Seriously, autograph fees for 
writers cover their expenses, because they're paying their own way.  Us authors 
have publishers to pick up the expense.
