Or perhaps we've got the following situation:

1) A large International mailing list with varying degrees of English 
proficiency (i.e. keeping answers succinct as possible)
2) Many members with varying degrees of Internet proficiency (e.g. email that 
mentions going through text files on crydee.com, but no mention of using the 
search box)

My response contained a very short, but "as detailed as needed" explanation of 
how to find the answer.  Precision was intended, but not critique.
