Hi, I have been on this list since since the late 90's, 97 or 98. I usually just read through the postings and hardly ever make a comment. But, I have a twelve year old that has been struggling with reading, mostly comprehension. He can read fine, but can't tell you about anything that he just read. About a 6 months ago he came into my library and said he needed a book to read and wanted to know if he could read one of mine. He looked through the shelves and asked to read Silverthorn, so I told him he had to start at the beginning with Magician. He is now on Mistress of the Empire and hasn't shut up about them since the day he started. His teacher called the other day to tell us what an amazing change there is in his reading. When I told him I was proud of him my wife asked me if I was proud of him for doing so much better and finding something that interested him enough to get him to read or if it was because he chose Feist to be interested in...... I honestly don't know !!!

Anyway Ray I can't thank you enough !!!! He may have eventually found a book that interested him.... or not... but either way it was your writing that pulled him into the world of reading !!! Thanks !!!

Spencer
P.S. .... could you start writing math problems ?????
