King's work is a prime example of how low budget and/or being 'made for TV'
can ruin a great story.  To properly do The Stand would be about 12 or so
hours long, rated R, need production by guys like Spielberg and special
effects by Lucas.  And at least a $300 million budget.  Maybe three times
that...

The Talisman would be a great one too if done well.

I think Faerie Tale would be a great movie too.  Half anxious, half
dreading the upcoming Star Wars movies though...
