Hi Ray (and thanks for taking the time to reply),

Not necessarily a strange request as such as I have no idea if you get these
requests all the time, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

There is a member of staff where I work who I have had the pleasure of
working with for 15 years. In 2 months time she is retiring from the NHS
where she has worked for 30 years.

One of the things I found when I first started as a student pharmacy
technician was that we both loved reading, and on my break one day I was
re-reading Magician and she said she loved your books which then led on to a
healthy discussion about all aspects of Midkemia, and has done ever since.
Every time a new book comes out I always ask her what she thought of it. It
seems fitting that as the Midkemia have come to an end, so has our working
relationship. The only difference is I am now her manager. The Padawan has
become the Master (oops, wrong universe) so to speak, but she has a lot to
teach and could run rings around me at work day in day out, she just never
wanted the management post; too much crap to deal with, not enough time with
patients.

Anyway, I have bought her a copy of the Voyager Classics Anniversary
Clothbound edition of Magician as a leaving present an wondered if there was
any way I could ship it to you from the UK to be signed for her, and I can
pay shipping back?

As I say I know you probably get requests like this all the time, but I
thought I'd ask

Many thanks

Sean

I'm active on the list. What do you need?

I'm not sure if this is allowed or not but I have a strange request which I
need to get to Ray. Is his facebook page the best way of doing this, or is
it best to try here or publisher etc.

Don't want to go into detail. And it's nothing dodgy (honest)

Many thanks
