I went to a ComicCon in Melbourne, Australia last year with my sister. When we arrived there was a huge line up. I can't imagine anyone at the end of that line getting in any sooner than a couple of hours. Thankfully we had bought high priority tickets so we got in fairly quickly. I was told later they had to stop letting people in because they hit the maximum allowable capacity. Even people who had the highest level of ticket weren't being allowed in and it was a bad idea to leave because you wouldn't be allowed back in.

I think the main reason was some of the guests, they'd invited Stan Lee along and a lot of people wanted his autograph.

I went about 10 years ago, and if I hadn't had a VIP pass (my buddy used to be an art director for an industry magazine) I would have left. The line to get in was about a half mile long. People waited to get in for hours. It was insane.

I used to when it was easy to get into anything…oh, 20 years ago. <g>

Now, I either wander the dealer’s room looking for goodies, visiting people I know, or I go home (or this year, back to the hotel). The lines are getting longer and I’m getting older.
