Well in a way that's how amazon UK sells them as e-books at least. I know this 
is about print versions, but it's a precedent of sorts.

Been reading this thread of boxset for a while now, waiting for someont 
to ask my thought, but since it doesn't occur, what is wrong with 
multiple boxsets?

The Music industry works with decades ('80's, '90's, '00's boxes)

Probably still will take a punch out of your moneypocket, but it will 
sell and probably also to more occasional buyers.

Just a thought.
