That is because of the "Java Analogy" of getting things well organized in large central repositories. groupId = org.hedhman.niclas.some.application artifactId = Habba will end up inside directory; <repoRoot>/org/hedhman/niclas/some/application/Habba/<version>/ Cheers Niclas
