By the way, what changes after the project graduates?

Good question. From a day-to-day perspective, I wouldn't imagine much changes since we already follow the Apache process and will continue to do so.

One change that I am aware of is that other Apache projects can depend on us, which they cannot while we are in the incubator...at least to my understanding.

Once we have graduated, we are no longer under the guidance and governance of the Incubator PMC, we will have our own PMC (project management committee). That PMC will report directly to the ASF board, rather than us reporting to the incubator PMC.

The most significant change is that we will be able to make releases on our own. We would have to vote, in which we get at least 3 +1 votes from Felix PMC members, and then we could cut a release.

So, as a consequence, I suspect we should see the amount of 'beaurocracy' we deal with it significantly reduce, as we will be in a position to make decisions on our own.
