I really like this litterbox thing. But it doesn't really belong in "demos".
Better if pkgtool library and scoop got built by the normal build process. IMHO of course. Perhaps we can have a plan to merge it in? Now, this leaves the permissions problem on installation. I'm no unix guru, but isn't it possible to have a setuid install program? There's another option: run scoop under sudo, but use a different cache. That avoid clobbering the less $HOME privileged cache. Now there's also an issue with scoop being self-updating. This means you can update it but your update gets clobbered if you re-install Felix. Of course one solution is to make the whole Felix build a bootstrap, and then install a live version of it with scoop, i.e. make scoop be the build system, and put all of Felix under its control. -- john skaller skal...@users.sourceforge.net http://felix-lang.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 positioned as A LEADER in The Forrester Wave(TM): Endpoint Security, Q1 2013 and "remains a good choice" in the endpoint security space.
