>>>Any thoughts on how to help ease his grief?<<<<
I guess lots and lots of love and attention (which he is doubtless getting already) and when the time is right a new compatible companion to cuddle up with.
By the way, do you know about the Candlelight Service that Belinda (Sauro) (thank you, thank you again Belinda) takes care of? You can contact Belinda  through this list and she will add Scully to the Candlelight Service if you like. I can't tell you how comforting I found it (and still find it) to see that Caramel and Levi memorialized/remembered there. It meant and means such a great deal to me even if I do cry buckets just thinking about it/them. If you go to the main page for felineleukemia.org you'll find it there. (I'd gladly give you the link, but it takes roughly a week :>) for me to raise a web page on this ancient PC--it's only good for email.)
take care, and I hope Rookie is getting comfort from happy memories of Scully too, Kerry

Thanks again. It is great to have so much support. Please bear with me as I learn how to navigate through this newsgroup. I hope that my replies reach people!

Had Scully been tested before and been negative?
No, she had not been tested. There didn't seem to be a reason to.

I hope your other kitty continues to do well; he must be missing his friend terribly as you are.

I worry about Rookie right now. He is not so good at being alone. He looked up to little Scully for everything. He was also a rescued cat who ended up being socialized by Scully to learn to be a cat (he hadn't been around many). He knows that she is gone - he is not looking for her like he did the night she was in the hospital. He sleeps on her blanket and looks so sad. Any thoughts on how to help ease his grief?

Thanks again,
SD
