Thank you for your kind words, I
really need to hear I did the right thing. In my heart, I know
I did, but I just miss him so, so much.
Felix certainly is "plucky", quite a
character. And he's very vocal too. I miss his "old man"
serenades.
I was looking at my photos this
afternoon, I told Victor I'd send them a pic of Felix in his
youth....middle age really. Him and his brother, Oscar were
about 10 when I brought them home from the
shelter. Their names fit them so perfectly too.
Oscar was a grouch, and a slob! He also had IBD, but he didn't
care where he went, and he had no use for a litterbox!
Felix, on the other hand was always a kind and gentle soul.
And very fastidious about grooming himself. And if he couldn't
make it to the nearest litterbox, he always found a
substitute......the dog's large water bowl, my potted fig
tree,the large basket in front of the fireplace, and at times
he actually went in the fireplace!
Even in his declining years he
always tried to get to the litterbox, by this time I had a
litterbox in every room in the house. He loves people, dogs,
cats whatever. Often he would cuddle up w/ Lucy my neurotic
dog. Lucy LOVES cats, especially kittenss, She enjoys being a
surrogate mom. She did a great job trying to groom Felix
everyday. And I know she really misses him, she's been extra
mopey these last few days. He's such a gentle soul, you can't
help but fall in love w/ him from the moment you first meet
him. We are all missing him. I pray that he still has a number
of good years to go.
And, some great news! I did sell my
house, before it was even listed in the papers. I was going
nuts w/ all these strangers in my house. Last Friday, two
contracts were signed. Both couples were very nice. But couple
number 1 went w/ the listed price and I do not have to pay any
of the closing fees or inspection fees. And the husband said
his wife loved the house so much, he was afraid of what she'd
do if she didn't get it! So that is why the contract is so
generous on my behalf. And they were already pre-approved for
mortgage. I'm delighted the house is going to people who will
love it as much as I do! And our realtor told us that there
are 3 couples who want to be notified if this contract doesn't
go thru. So now it's my turn to find a place for me & the
furkids. I'm praying it won't be too hard since once the
mortgage is paid, there is still a good sum coming my
way!
