My uncles swear that once upon a time, there were rules, rules of safety, rules of civility, rules of respect of nature but that is has changed.  They don't understand uzis to kill deer either.  Their take on it is if you need an automatic rifle to kill a deer, hunting just may not be your sport. LOL

I wonder if there have been any studies to show that some people
carrying guns tend to behave badly just as do other people when they
get behind the wheel of a car. I'm on another animal list where a guy
forwards news items about hunter bad behavior. There was a case, it
may have been in Pennsylvania, when a hunter accidentally shot a
pregnant woman standing in front of her cabin in the woods. She
consequently lost her baby. The guy was fined and maybe did a few days
in jail, but the woman said the worst thing was that he didn't even
apologize. I'm just kind of wondering about factors coming into play -
like being behind the wheel of a car, carrying a weapon, wearing a
uniform, being in a large group, that seem to bring out otherwise
inhibited behavior in people.

At least the governor of Wisconsin has also said there will be no cat
hunting on his watch.
