yeah, and which of the species, cats or humans, are the dumb animals????? re: the litter box issue--i, too, panic when i find someone lying the box as it can be a sign of serious illness. when it happens, i watch them really carefully, ask them if there's something wrong (occasionally they'll even answer)--but in most cases it's turned out to be nothing. for some reason, at that moment in time, they've just decided that's a place they want to hang out. they're cats. while ANY change in behavior needs to be paid attention to, not everything has a dire meaning..... -- MaryChristine
