I've noticed that too. The ones that are left seem to try to pick up on
special duties, games etc., as if they're trying to fill the void. You
might remember my wondering who would be nice to Kimba Cat, now that
Jazz is gone. Well, Grace has begun to touch noses with him and they've
even engaged in play. Grace has also begun to trill to me. Jazz was
the only one that used the vocalization on a regular basis. I've seen
it with my dogs too. I've had alot of people that tell me that their
old dog "taught" behaviors to the pup before he passed and the new ones
take over certain tasks that they never did before.
