Thanks to those who sent healing messages. The vet gave Mikey a thorough physical examination and stool check and found nothing organically wrong with him. He told me that it is typical of the positive condition for a cat to run a high fever from time to time, on the order of a roller coaster effect. The lack of appetite and energy are direct results. He gave him shots of Flocillin and Dypivone, along with Clovamax drops for me to administer for the next 7 days. He directed me to call him in 24 to 36 hours to let him know how Mikey is doing.
I am glad that I didn't wait any longer to take him to the vet since he was beginning to become dehydrated and had lost a pound and a half in the past two weeks, which is a lot for a nine pound cat.
