PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST
Dear List;
I am please to announce that the "Ring" raffle sponsored by the
Orion
Foundation is finally up and going. There is a picture up on
the website for you
to look at
(_
www.orionfoundation.com_
) ) . The
ring is appraised at $2200 and is a 14+carat blue topaz flanked on either
side by diamonds. The funds will go to the Winn Foundation
and be earmarked
for FIP research. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each and a drawing
will be held at
the CFA Annual meeting held in Atlantic City in June (16th-19th).
You can get tickets through me. You can pay for them by check
(made out to
the Winn Foundation) or through PayPal (if you want to use PayPal,
send me a
private e-mail and let me know).
AND, we desperately need people to help us sell these tickets!
A sheet has
8 tickets...there are over 2500 people on this list. Imagine
if only 100 of
those folks sold a sheet of tickets that would be $4000 for FIP
research!
Several weeks ago, at the Western Vet Conference, there was a panel on
FIP
(thanks to Steve Dale and his "squeaky wheel"
perseverance in keeping this
issue before the veterinary public!). I think the overall
impression was that
even Pedersen has a renewed interest in FIP research. WE HAVE TO
MAKE SURE
THAT FUNDING WILL BE AVAILABLE!
Sure...$4,000 is a drop in the bucket, but coming from the grass
roots cat
owners/breeders, it shows the drug companies with their deep
pockets that we
desperately care about finding answers for this disease. And
caring owners
will turn into paying customers if they can develop viable
treatments and
hopefully a cure!
By the end of the summer, we hope to give you the good news that The
Orion
Foundation is back in business collecting your donations in it's own
name.
Until then, please support this raffle and the Winn Foundation.
Together, we
can make a difference!
Sincerely,
Dru Milligan
President, Orion Foundation
