I mentioned in an earlier post that Gypsy has a new symptom; hair loss.
She's had hair loss on her back legs for some time and I assumed that it
had something to do with her anal leakage. I only bathed her once a
week, and as many of you know, that's not enough to keep someone clean
when they're dripping like a faucet. I'd catch her tearing at her legs
in an effort to clean them. But lately she has a patch of hair missing
on the top of her head and it's thinning on the back of her head and
neck. I thought it might be some sort of deficiency, but now I'm not so
sure. I got on the internet and found some reports of hair loss with
the use, and the discontinuation of, Prednisone. Has anyone else
experienced this with their cats?
Btw, I finally fessed up to my vets about stopping Gypsy's meds, (I took
the chicken way out and sent an email). I asked them about the hair
loss, but I've always gotten such good information from you guys, I
thought you might have some insights.
