PS. Like I said though until I can get them all switched to my homemade food and get their bloodwork rechecked to see if the pred is making a difference, she probably won't have too muct to tell her other than mayber her personal feelings about the test and treatment. So it probably will be atleast a couple of months before all of that is accomplished. She just wrote to UC Davis for a nutricinal consultation to find out about the supplements and she probably won't hear back from them until next week sometime. Plus my number 1 priority is getting Joey on heart medication since we have caught it in the fairly early stages, there's a good chance with this new medication we could even reverse some of the damage and if not certainly slow the progression down.

It has been shown with this new heart medication that is not as hard on the kidney's if the hypertrophic (sp?) cardiomyapathy is diagnosed early enough and the cat is started on the med it can actually reshape the heart muscle and undo some of the damage, so I want to get him started as soon as possible. He is rated a grade 3 or 4 murmur at the very most, considered mild to moderate and so far there doesn't seem to be any noticable damage to the valves, just the thicking of the wall as far as we can see, so he is a good canidate for the new med to possibly help undo some of the damage.
