I've had Bailey (my positive ) since he was 5 months old, he tested positive then. He has been with the other cats who are all healthy and vaccinated for all of his 10 years of life and I test all but Bailey every year except this year (my vet did say I could skip the test since in 10 years nobody has gotten it from him, so this year I did), I don't see any reason to keep drawing blood for the test when I'm comfortable that no one will get it from him.

In my opinion from personal experience, I'm comfortable that it isn't as easily spread as many vets would try to tell you. When I found Bailey ten years ago, I took him to three diffrent vets in Missouri, ALL three told me to euthanize him, that he wouldn't live three more months ... thank goodness I had experience with FeLV and knew that to be totally inaccurate. 10 years later Bailey is a happy and healthy boy!!

He has just last year had mouth problems with stomastisis but we have that pretty well under control now and he has gained back the little weight he'd lost and then some. He had his teeth pulled after treating with many different antibiotics and acupunture didn't resolve his mouth problems, and has been going strong ever since!!
