As hard as it is you may want to tell him it is ok to leave his body.  He may be struggling to stay because he knows the pain you are in.  Explain, out loud, to him that you cry because you love him and don't want to see him in this condition and that you will miss seeing his body and holding it and petting him but that you know he will always be with you in spirit.  He needs your permission to leave and he needs to know that you will grieve but that you will be ok, especially if he visits often.  Once you have given him permission to leave and assured him you will be ok support his decission.  He may be spending so much energy dealing with trying to stay and protect you that he doesn't have enough left to get better or to leave this world.  You may even need to ask him for a sign if he needs help leaving this world.  You don't have to hold back the tears.  Animals know too much to try to fool them and you seem so close to this little soul that he knows more about what you are going thru than you do.  My animals have told me when it was time for them to leave--that is, once I learned to listen to them.  He seems to be taking great comfort (and giving comfort to you) by sleeping on top or with you.  Maybe you can find time to take extra naps with him or just lay with him??????

God bless you and your little ones.

Thankyou all for kind words and prayers. I syringed fed a little chicken soup last night and got his tablets down him but it was not easy. He slept on my bed most of the night and mostly on top of me. He was so so sick yesterday - his head was stooping as he was constantly dozing and had an enlarged lymoh node. He seems only a little better today - he is still sick but has eaten some dry food. I Gave him the option of different wet foods and by accident I discovered he wanted the dry which I had to mix in Minstrel and Buddy's wet food. It is complete dry food so better than nothing at all - I have got his vitamin in him again so will keep a close eye. His head and ears have been getting so hot too despite his rectal temperature being normal when vets have taken it. Just asked at the FIV group if they can have a temperature without it being dectected rectally - does anyone here know anything about that?

I saw this behaviour in my darling Tidge towards the end when she was in FAIDS so I may have been wrong to think Bramble was still one step before FAIDS, he is losing weight again fast. Hope I'm wrong this time thinking it's his time to pass.

Praying Hard and I'll keep trying to motivate him
Michelle, Bramble, Buddy, & Minstrel
